Father’s Day NYC: A Full Day Itinerary with Central Park, the Vessel, and 1,100 Feet Above the City at Edge

June 4, 2026 | Edge NYC

Looking for a Father’s Day plan that actually comes together? This one has breakfast in the park, a climb up the Vessel, and a cold beer 1,100 feet above the city at Edge. No overthinking, just a solid day in New York with the people who matter most.

9:00 AM: Breakfast Near Central Park

Father’s Day is once a year. Start it somewhere good. You’re already near Central Park so the options are solid. Here are three worth considering:

  • Sarabeth’s (Central Park South): Classic New York brunch. Eggs benedict, fluffy pancakes, fresh juice. The kind of spot that has been around forever for a reason. Comfortable, unfussy, and good for a table with kids.
  • The Loeb Boathouse: Right inside the park on the lake. Rowboats on the water, a lakeside terrace, and a menu of solid American fare. A genuinely nice way to start a Sunday morning.
  • Tavern on the Green: An institution on the western edge of the park. The dining room is glass-enclosed, the patio has string lights, and the whole place has an energy that fits the occasion without feeling too formal.

10:30 AM: Walk Through Central Park

After breakfast, just walk. No plan needed. Let the kids do their thing, head south through the park, and take your time. It’s one of the best free things in New York and a good way to move before the day picks up. When you’re ready, grab the subway from Columbus Circle or 59th Street down to Hudson Yards.

12:30 PM: Hudson Yards, Start with Vessel

Head to Vessel first before the crowds settle in. Pick up the Vessel + Edge Flex Ticket combo and start climbing. The structure is genuinely one of a kind, 154 interconnected flights with the plaza opening up below you as you go higher. Take your time, get the photos, let the kids lead the way up. The angles you get from inside and outside the Vessel are unlike anything else in the city.

2:00 PM: Up to Edge

Vessel and Edge are steps apart, so the transition is easy. Head over, upgrade to get priority access, and take the elevator up. Edge is a full indoor and outdoor experience. Before you reach the sky deck, you move through an immersive multi-level indoor experience filled with shifting light, mirrors, color, and sound. Every room is a photo moment. Then you step outside and it opens up completely. The glass floor, the angled walls, the Skyline Seats, the Eastern Point. Fresh air, open sky, and the whole city laid out below you. On a clear day you can see past the Hudson River all the way to the Statue of Liberty.

3:00 PM: The Father’s Day Moment

This is where the day comes together. Upgrade to the Edge Premium Father’s Day Bundle or to the Premium Bundle with a seasonal cocktail and let Dad have his moment. A cold craft beer and a pretzel at 1,100 feet. Get tickets here!

4:30 PM: Dinner at Level 5, The Shops at Hudson Yards

Take the elevator down to Level 5 and wrap up the day with dinner. There are two great options depending on what you’re in the mood for:

  • Milos is known for its exceptional Greek seafood, with a menu built around fresh fish and simple, refined preparation. The setting feels elevated without being over the top, making it a fitting end to a special day.
  • Bond St offers contemporary Japanese cuisine with standout sushi and shareable dishes that work well for groups. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed, and there’s enough variety on the menu to keep everyone happy.

Good food, good company, and a Father’s Day spent making memories together.
